Printing the chat page doesn't work well

Printing the ChatGPT page straight from the browser drags in the sidebar and the input box, cuts off long code, and splits answers awkwardly across pages. Paste the answer into printmd instead and you get just the content, laid out like a document.

Two ways to bring answers in

1. The answer's copy button

The copy icon under an answer copies its Markdown source. Paste it into the printmd editor and it's a document. The most faithful option for a single answer.

2. Select and copy

Select several questions and answers with the mouse, press Ctrl+C (⌘+C on a Mac) and paste. printmd converts the headings, lists, tables and code blocks to Markdown automatically.

What's the easiest way to save a ChatGPT conversation as PDF?+
Copy the answer with its copy button, paste it into the printmd editor and click Export PDF. To move several answers at once, select the conversation, copy it and paste.
Does it work with Claude and Gemini?+
Yes. Any AI service whose answers you can copy works the same way — Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and more. Content copied from ordinary web pages is converted to Markdown too.
Will math show up in the PDF?+
Math comes over as LaTeX source (like $...$). printmd doesn't render formulas yet, so math-heavy answers show the source.
Is my conversation sent to a server?+
No. What you paste is processed inside your browser and never sent anywhere.
Are images included?+
Images link to their original address. Some, such as AI-generated images, use addresses that expire, so save important images separately.
